Fees and financing options

Not all our qualifications cost to study, but those that do have brilliant options for you to take out loans or use a payment plan to spread tuition fees over the year.

Fully-funded qualifications

The National Skills Fund

The National Skills Fund is a government-funded initiative which provides adults over the age of 19 with an opportunity to improve their career prospects by expanding their current skills or training in a new industry for free.

Some of our adult Level 3 offer will be free to you if you:

  • are a resident of the UK

  • are aged 19+

  • don’t yet have a full Level 3 qualification

You will have the opportunity to study an exciting range of qualifications across all our sectors on programmes such as:

  • A Levels

  • Technical Certificates

  • Extended Diplomas

19 – 23-year-olds

If you are aged 19-23 and don’t yet have a full Level 3 qualification, it is your legal entitlement that you can study one at no cost to you.

Online / Distance courses

If you are a resident of South Yorkshire, most of our Online / Distance qualifications are fully-funded at no cost to you!

Paying for your qualification

If you, or your employer will be paying for your qualification, The Sheffield College has a number of payment plan options to help you spread the costs.

Financing options

19+ Advanced Learner Loans

19+ Advanced Learner Loans can be used by adult students to pay tuition fees and have been designed to make studying as an adult more accessible. Eligibility does not depend on income, there are no credit checks, and anyone over the age of 19 can apply as long as they’re studying an approved course at Level 3, 4, 5, or 6.
